With a week to spare I set off to visit a friend in Scotland. Such a long journey requires breaks for rest and relaxation, so plenty were taken. Also the trip provided the opportunity to put some faces to names and meet some new people. So after an 1,123mile round trip here are my images.

Day 1 a good place to start. Rugby, plenty of Virgin West Coast trains. Some thunderbirds and a bit of freight.

The port of Felixstowe has a special place in my memory, primarily because I many a happy holiday in my youth watching double headed class 37's crossing over the road at the beach station level crossing. The 37's are gone now sadly. But there is still plenty of activity to be seen.
